How can I offer specific variants in a collection?

Some products have multiple variants, but you may only want customers to select specific ones.

For example, if you sell apple, orange, and lemon juices in 250ml, 500ml, and 1L variants, you may want customers to be able to select only the  250ml variant as part of a bundle. Without filtering, all variants would be available for selection.

Using Shopify's Variant Title Filter

Shopify now supports filtering automated (smart) collections using the Variant Title condition. This allows you to create a collection that only includes the variants you want to offer, and then use that collection within your BYOB bundle.

Creating a Variant-Specific Collection

1. In your Shopify admin, navigate to Products → Collections.
2. Click Create collection.
3. Switch from Products → Variants.
4. Under Conditions, choose Variant Title.
5. Set the condition to match the variant you want to include (for example, 250ml).
6. Give your collection a name and click Save.

Using the Collection in BYOB

Once your collection has been created:

1. Open the BYOB app.
2. Edit the bundle where you want to restrict the available variants.
3. Assign the newly created collection to the appropriate bundle step or condition.
4. Save your changes.

Customers will now only be able to select the variants that match the collection's Variant Title filter.

Testing Your Bundle

After updating your bundle:

1. Preview the bundle page
2. Verify that only the desired variants are available for selection.
3. Complete a test bundle to ensure it behaves as expected.
